  • Overview


    Working closely with the ELT Editorial team and in liaison with editorial, sales, marketing and suppliers, this role will ensure key ELT EMEA projects are produced on time, to budget and to specification


    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Work independently but under the supervision of the Publisher, Executive Editor, and/or Managing/Commissioning Editor
    • Manage the development of materials for print and electronic delivery—including Student’s Books, ancillaries, and digital products—at all stages of the development process
    • Analyse content and write editorial development guidelines
    • Provide direction to writers in terms of content suitability, accuracy, style, format, and structure
    • Manage freelancers and outsourced assignments
    • Review and fact check content
    • Ensure quality control
    • Re-write content when necessary
    • Attend audio recordings and review audio
    • Select and review videos, and create video scripts
    • Create and maintain editorial schedules
    • Track budgets and input data into the plate tracker
    • Problem-solve daily process issues
    • Prepare project documentation such as design memos, art and photo logs, audio scripts, audio error reports, bookmaps, PIF forms,
    • Bring projects to completion within specified deadlines and budgets
    • Generate and co-ordinate product surveys, and customer engagement plans
    • Gather, analyse, and report market feedback
    • Enter, update, and manage product information on internal systems (e.g. IPS)
    • Organise and maintain project materials in repositories
    • Help select outside writers and development editors, develop briefs and contracts
    • Co-ordinate and efficiently monitor the transmittal of materials and communication between in-house staff and outside project members (freelancers, authors, etc.)
    • Provide guidance to in-house Editors and Editorial Assistants
    • Communicate effectively across functional groups
    • Attend sales meetings, conferences etc as required
    • Carry out regional market visits as needed


    Required Experience:

    • B.A. degree or equivalent
    • Minimum 4 years of ELT publishing and TEFL teaching experience
    • Strong organisational and inter-personal skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while adhering to established deadlines
    • Must be innovative, highly motivated, and team-oriented
